This piece is an original colour lithograph from 1954. Chagall is known for his colourful and romantic depictions of a world that is dreamlike and nostalgic. He came to Paris in search of light, freedom, and refinement of his skills and craft and on the subject, Chagall says “Paris lit up my shadowy world like the sun.”
